Quick Tip: Programming a Replacement Baha® Sound Processor

Share

Welcome to Cochlear™ Quick Tips. The purpose behind Quick Tips is to give you “bite-sized” information that you can use when working with our products. In this edition, we will discuss how to program replacement Baha® Sound Processors.

Does your patient need to be present to set up a replacement sound processor?

Your patient does not need to be present! The replacement sound processor can be programmed with settings from a previous session. Remember, Remote Assist can also be used to perform a full fitting, including Feedback Measurement and BC Direct.

What about running the Feedback Analyzer?

The feedback analysis information for a Baha Sound Processor is specific to each sound processor. The prior feedback test will not carry over to the replacement device. We recommend that you repeat the Feedback Analyzer at your patient’s next follow-up visit or sooner if needed. A Remote Assist session can also be utilized to fit a replacement processor, which includes running the Feedback Analyzer remotely.

What is the workflow in the software?

Baha Fitting Software:

1. From the patient’s programming file, open the session you would like to save to the replacement sound processor.

2. Select the Setup tab on the activity screen and choose Setup Replacement Sound Processor. Select Start.

3. Replacement Completed message indicates the sound processor is ready for use. Exit the software.

4. Don’t forget to pair any wireless accessories to the new device!

Follow these simple steps to program replacement Baha Sound Processors with confidence—keeping your patients connected without interruption.
