Your patients lead dynamic lives—singing in the shower, splashing in a pool and dancing in the rain. Parents of children with cochlear implants cherish so many moments such as bathing their newborns, watching their toddlers splash in a puddle or run through the sprinkler. No matter the activity or weather, Cochlear™ Nucleus® 8 and Kanso® 2 recipients can confidently enjoy these activities without the need for extra protection of an Aqua+*.
Why is Cochlear highlighting the IP68 rating of the Nucleus 8 and Kanso 2 Sound Processors now? As manufacturers, we must ensure our products are not just fit for purpose but excel in keeping patients connected while minimizing unnecessary clinic visits. Over the past 2.5 years, we’ve reported our sound processor reliability per the ANSI/AAMI CI86 Standard3 to confirm the IP68 waterproof* integrity of both the Nucleus 8 and Kanso 2 Sound Processors. We are proud to say, when it comes to water, our sound processors have <0.01% FCRR.4 We know things can happen to a device. When they do, Cochlear’s no-questions-asked warranty ensures patients are covered†, no matter where life takes them.
